Hyakunen was a painter who used several different painting styles during his career. In 1880 some of his Chinese-style pictures were copied and published in a woodblock-printed book entitled Gahō Sentei (i.e., Method of Painting). The twenty-one pictures of flowers and (or) birds that were included in the book are shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it.
